The ironic thing about me selling a pop machine, is that I was known as the non-pop drinker when I was a kid, juice and water only for most my life….until now! I love having Bubbly water in my fridge, I can have a nice fizzy drink anytime I like…and it came out of my tap!
The best part is still yet to come. If you do the math on this, somehow including the carbon imprint in the calculations, it would look a little like this:
- at 300 liters the soda stream is costing 83 cents per liter totaling 250.
- that is equal to 150 bottles of store bought at 1.69 per bottle, totaling $253.50
- now factor in the amount of trips to the store, strength exerted, time spent, fuel consumed in those trips.
- now factor in the amount of space it occupied in your home.
-now factor in trips to the Bottle Depot, time spent loading and unloading, waiting in line, fuel consumed.
The same amount of soda water from your own Soda Stream would have required 4 trips to your local Soda Stream retailer to replenish your CO2.
Pretty easy math on my calculator…but then I was a non-pop drinker so what do I know.
